The country has faced significant challenges in terms of economic progress and development. During periods of relative stability, particularly after the fall of the Taliban regime in 2001, Afghanistan made some progress in economic reconstruction. International aid and investment flowed into the country, leading to improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and governance. Economic growth rates were positive, and there were modest improvements in living standards for some segments of the population. However, Afghanistan has also faced persistent issues that hindered sustainable economic progress.
